I’m retired now so I wouldn’t be seeing you as you take time out to say hello to all that hold you close. But being retired beats working day in and day out ….. and who knows I may get up to the RIR track while your in town and give a yell…… Take care My Friend ….. And think back to not knowing your mic was on when you lost your wing….. LOL LIFE IS GOOD!!! Take care.

Dear Helio,
Your words about the scars and healing really touched my heart. It will take time, as you said, and I will continue my prayers for you, Kati and your whole family. I know what it is like to be oppressed by a behemoth and to be left without recourse for restitution. I was wronged by my neurosurgeon, even though I was fortunate enough to have the top of the crop only because, after two years of inaccurate diagnosis, my insurance company insisted that only he perform my surgery. Just like the U.S. government devalued you my surgeon devalued me- both acted unjustly. And I had no recourse because this leading surgeon was too powerful in the legal profession as well, he being what I call their bread and butter. To this day he is still listed as the top neurosurgeon in our city and yet I will be disabled for the rest of my life because of his arrogance. Despite my limitations I learned some valuable lessons, spiritual ones that -in my opinion- are more valuable than fool’s gold because they drew me closer to God through a deeper, less superficial, understanding of HIS Word. God’s Word was really my only source of comfort when I tried to comprehend how and why some people do what they do. Although the search for this “pearl of high value” was sometimes agonizing… to quote God’s own Word, “to those who are trained by it it yields peaceable fruit.”
Hope I’m not rambling too much for you. I just can’t sleep tonight for some reason and as I kept tossing and turning I couldn’t get what happened to you out of my mind. I kind of felt Robin’s joke and Dave’s question were insensitive to what treachery you and your family have had to endure. You responded in your usual gracious form. I think I recognize why you have to also. Your strength that way is admirable. I used to be that kind of person too, but since my own treacherous experience I find it much easier to cast off those who make demands of me or who try to manipulate me. Of course, I don’t have anything left to protect but my personal relationship with my Lord and Savior, so it’s easy for me to do that. Despite your oppression, you have many, many blessings for which to be thankful. I hope those blessings will help you when your emotional pain surfaces, and that when they can’t I hope you will turn to God. Not just in prayer for what you think you need, but also in reading God’s Word in order to receive more fully what HE knows you need, which is understanding of the truth. As Jesus told his disciples, “If you remain in my word, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”(John 8, I think)

Hi Helio! I am so glad to hear the good news and that you will be back to racing this week! I had a feeling that you would come out on top! I would have really lost faith in life had something horrible happened to such a genuinely good person such as yourself. Let’s see…how did I spend Valentie’s Day? That was so long ago, but I spent it recording myself playing trumpet for a international trumpet scholarship competition, which I just found out last week that I ended up winning!! I briefly read the exciting news earlier and left a brief congrats here for you.I have now had time to breathe,stop the heart pounding,lower my blood pressure,wipe away my tears of joy and assemble all the facts together.I am overjoyed that Roger is putting you in the #3 car and that the fans get to see you, after this long gruelling off season,at Long Beach.Get ready for more craziness ..but in a good way this time ,especially with the interviews and photographers etc.I hope they give you some respect and allow you get back peacefully into the car and let you do what you do best.

You know, a couple of times throughout this trial of yours, Helio, I shared a Bible verse that explains that “When one member of [Christ's] body suffers the other members suffer with it; and when one member is glorified all the other members rejoice with it.” We have suffered with you, Helio, and now that you have been glorified through God’s blessing we are rejoicing with you too. It is a beautiful thing to witness firsthand the truth in God’s Word. It is even more beautiful to witness such truth in the company of so many believers. Praise God and His Word, for by they alone do we receive this life of joy today and everyday. And Helio, I can’t wait for you to keep spreading that your joy around again. You may never know just how many hearts will be lightened and spirits lifted through your spiritual gift.

I keep coming back to this page and I’m overwhelmed at the amount of support (both in English and Portuguese) that you have coming in today. As I was telling someone just a little while ago, there’s a Bible verse that talks about, if you have the faith of a mustard seed, you can move mountains. I think we’ve officially moved mountains today, Helio. I believe in miracles with all of my heart. I’ve seen them with my own eyes. And I think today, you’re our miracle Helio. Thank you for never doubting on your faith. For sticking by God these last seven weeks. I know it must have been exhausting and tiring but today, you have your rainbow. You are a true testimony to the power of prayer and positive thinking.

Muitos blogs aqui do Brasil, apesar de não te condenarem expressamente, publicavam notícias do tipo: “a situação é complicada”, ou “o Ministério Público nos EUA só oferecem denúncia quando a prova é bastante contundente, a situação é complicada”, ou “os jurados pediram uma transcrição e isso não é bom para a defesa”, ou “os advogados de defesa pediram para anular o julgamento e quando fazem isso é porque a ‘vaca foi para o brejo’”. Enfim. Nunca se publicou por aqui algo do tipo: “O Helinho é inocente”, ou pelo menos “O Helinho pode ser inocente, não o julguem ainda”.
Imagino pelo que você deve ter passado, a mídia em nosso país é cruel. Não espere, porém, que eles reconheçam o erro e agora publiquem matérias te exaltando. Não. Infelimente eles não tem princípios para isso.
Você, sem dúvida algum (pelas conquistas e por tudo mais) é um dos principais pilotos brasileiro pós-era Senna.
MAs no coração das pessoas que acreditam em você, você sempre foi inocente, independente do que a mídia publicou. Deixe que seus fãs o exaltem, porque se você precisa de algum reconhecimento, é deles que deve vir! Sou professor, advogado e fã de automobilismo, e confesso que essa sua vitória foi uma das que mais me emocionou. Saiba que no coração de cada fã seu, de automobilismo, você ou foi também absolvido ou sequer chegou a ser julgado.
Infelizemente nosso país não é um Estado Democrático de Direito. E você foi massacrado, antes mesmo de ser julgado.
Agora vá lá campeão. Mostre a todos que a sua volta por cima você fará dando as voltas que você, melhor do que ninguém, sabe dar na F-Indy.

Just a quick note to say I’m relieved for you that the jury acquitted you (and your sister and attorney) of all charges. I’m a lawyer in Indiana, and I know that when the feds actually charge something, they’re usually very confident of their ability to get a conviction. That had me very concerned.

I keep telling myself that with each passing day, the end of this trial is just a little closer! But I find it so hard to be patient and I know that you are so ready to run out of that courthouse, hop on a plane, and head to Long Beach. We want this to be over and to see you in your race car too. We’re all persevering in prayer for you, Kati and Mr. Miller, and all of your family. We’re praying for God’s righteousness to be upon the jury so that a just verdict is reached. There is no greater justice in this world than the grace of God through HIS love and compassion towards us all. Helio, I know you would rather be in Long Beach right now, but what’s really important is that the jury do the right thing…no matter how long it takes. Obviously, the tax laws are very complicated and confusing. If the jurors are having trouble understanding the tax laws, with a judge and two lawyers trying to explain to them, how could they possibly think that you would have understood any of those same laws back in 1999-2004. Did you even speak very much English in 1999? The only verdict they can possible bring is INNOCENT. Just stay strong Helio and Kati. Remember, even though you may feel alone, you are not! God is with you, and so are all of your many fans, friends, and family. God Bless You.

Helio – I am feeling more and more confident every day that justice will soon prevail and you will soon hear the words you have been waiting to hear for so long… and then you will be free to go back to what you love to do so much and we all love to watch you do. Will is an extremely nice, sweet guy, but seeing him in your car, just didnt really sit well with me. Hopefully we keep Will on, because he is a great driver, and a great asset to Team Penske…We just need to give him a different car number. #3 will always be associated with you! haha!! I saw your interview from this afternoon. You don’t even look like the same person, you look so sad and stressed. It makes me so sad to see. Stay strong, be patient, and most of all know we are here.
Helio – wow this waiting is tough – I can’t even imagine how tough it is for you and your family. But I take it as a sign that the jury is ensuring that they come up with the correct verdicts with the evidence that was presented to them so they can show the world that they took their duty seriously. I continue to pray that they will find you NOT GUILTY on all counts. I totally believe that you are innocent and I really hope that you find that out within the next day or two. Keep strong – you have so many people praying and believing in your innocence.
Hang in there Helio! Hopefully it won’t be more than a day or two more. I’m feeling good about this too. I can’t imagine anything other than an acquittal of all charges towards all three of you. God bless you, Helio, and give you strength enough to think positively. I’m looking forward to watching you in Long Beach. Robin Miller said on The Speed Report yesterday that he thinks if you’re acquitted you would have the energy to drive from Miami non-stop all the way to Long Beach if you had to. That was sweet. It was nice to hear some empathy from him towards your situation.

“Patience!” Helio, I remember listening to Tim repeat those words to you during a race last year. I know it was difficult for you to heed what he was saying. Now I find myself thinking that same word today — “Patience”. I’m trying to be patient as I know you are but it’s so hard! I’m so anxious to hear that “not guilty on all counts”. And I will hear it — I’m positive about that. In the meantime I pray that you remain positive — and patient too!
I can’t believe there was no verdict today. Maybe tomorrow, you, Kati, and Mr. Miller will get that “not guilty” verdict you’ve been waiting for and you can go back to your life.

Provavelmente, tu já está em direção a Corte (ou já esteja lá), e, espero que, quando tu venha a ler essa mensagem tudo já esteja esclarecido e resolvido, e tu te dirigindo para o teu cockpit…mas, depois que te escrevi ontem a noite, acessei o link que enviaram em uma das mensagens, que era da tua conversa com o Celso Miranda (é outra coisa escutar do que ler, né, escutando a gente pode sentir a emoção na outra pessoa…) e, mais tarde, fiquei pensando no que ouvi, o quê me fez lembrar de uma pessoa, José Carlos Pace (que por uma triste coincidência, vira-e-mexe, penso nele: ele veio a se acidentar de avião e falecer no mesmo dia em que eu nasci, e isso, de alguma forma, me liga a ele, me liga ao mundo do automobilismo), que era chamado de Moco, por causa dos ouvidos moco (só ouvia o que ele queria, dizem): a gente, o ser humano, tem o poder de selecionar aquilo que ouvimos, ou seja, não é porque alguém nos fala algo que aquilo precisa ser processado pelo nosso cérebro e ser armazenado dentro de nós, pode entrar por um ouvido e sair pelo outro, direto, sem escala!!!!! Portanto, faça isso quando estiverem falando de ti, respira fundo e tenta não processar, sei que parece fácil para quem fala, mas não pensa que é fácil ficar aqui, sentada e não poder fazer nada…Eu acho que essa é a grande diferença entre essa dificílima corrida das ‘corridas normais’, nas corridas de carro a única influência externa ao teu carro e aos outros pilotos é da equipe no rádio, te falando da própria corrida, se tu estiver bem concentrado naquilo, nada vai interferir nos teus pensamentos (só imagino que seja assim, né, não tenho experiência alguma nesse assunto, apenas de assistir e acompanhar)…mas nessa, isso é quase impossível, tu está vivendo essa pressão 24 horas por dia, 07 dias por semana, quando sai na rua, as pessoas te olham e podem estar te julgando, existem críticas ao vivo, ou pela televisão, internet, sei lá,…se torna quase impossível não conviver com ‘esse mundo’…mas NÃO É IMPOSSÍVEL, é difícil, mas não impossível, e tu vais conseguir; mas se der tudo certo, já hoje, nada disso será mais necessário…AMÉM!!!

Good Morning, Helio. Today, I read, is the last day for lawyers’ closing arguments then it goes
to the jury. Be strong Helio and continue to keep the faith that God will grant you the peace
that all of you need while the jury is deliberating. We continue our prayers and full support
and belief in your innocence. We continue to pray for the jury’s declaration of NOT GUILTY to all
accusations. This trial showed how easy human beings err when we only rely on our own understandings.
It also showed how people in the government abuse the power given to them instead of truly looking for the truth, and how they take advantage of good people for their own ambitions. I believe in
the power of the prayers and that God can see the intentions in our hearts. You have always
shown your positiveness in an “almost empty tank of gas” but kept on going. You always are an
inspiration to so many people. And may I say, you are one classy guy. Your parents guided you
well and they, including your sister Kati, showed how they all love you, like we love you, too.

It’s been raining and storming here in Missouri tonight; They’ve been calling for tornados and high winds all day, and they finally did, indeed, arrive as predicted. The sirens blew, the skies turned an eerie shade of green, and the news predicted the worst. We took shelter as the winds and rain pounded the house.
Thought you might like to know that the little checkered flag I have mounted on the house outside still flies. A little tattered and wet, but it made it through, waiting for a Long Beach victory.

We are onto that smoother path now that i talked about in my previous post and i know there will that beautiful rainbow at the end of that path.There maybe a couple of bumps we have to navigate even on this smoother path but please remember at the beginning of this journey we heard some dogs barking and even a few frogs croaking,the weather wasn’t too good ,in fact it was quite stormy at times.We have weathered that storm so far and things are looking clearer and much better. Now we have sunshine towards the end of this journey,the birds are sweetly chirping and the butterflies are flying gracefully,the buds and spring flowers are ready to burst into a new beginning.
Helio,as we go into this final phase know that your fans all over the world are ready to help you get thru this last few days.We know you will be victorious,feel free to celebrate like no other win you have ever had ,then head the Long Beach.They said the viewership was down at St Petes for VERSUS and blamed the fact that not everybody has access to that channel…..I strongly suspect it was the Helio fans choosing not to watch due to your not being there….lets watch the viewership increase for Long Beach when you race in the #3.

I almost cried as I read the article where you said you were”Running on empty”. You are going through something that you should never have had to go through. Our faith in you and your innocence has never faltered.
As closing arguements start tomorrow this will be the hardest part of your race;the waiting. I can’t stand it, so I cannot even imagine the pain you are feeling. Remember our prayer are consantly
going out to you. You are never far from our thoughts. My husband & I have trouble concentrating at our work.
We pray for the jury also; that they see your innocence. You will win this race and you will see that checkered flag. Hi Helio – I wanted to clarify what I wrote down quoting you saying that you felt empty. I didn’t complete the quote since I am not good at remembering the order of your words so I went back to
the article written by Robin Miller on SpeedTV.com. Here’s the quote when you were asked how you
felt (coming out of the court):
“Asked how he is holding up, Castroneves replied: ‘I have to admit, I’m running on empty. I was
thinking this morning on the way here about when you run an empty car times 2 hours that’s loose
and how you are so focused and mentally exhausted when you get out of the car.

I hope this draws a better picture of your feeling empty or exhausted which to me shows you are
realistic like us but it doesn’t take anything away from your positive personality. Prayers and
positive vibes are continuing for you, and I stand by what I said that God loves you so much
that He can fill your heart with His strength, and that I am sure that His angels are already
embracing you with His love so you can feel all the love and support of your family, friends,

Helio, I haven’t read what has been quoted here about you feeling empty (I imagine you are worn out). Hang in there. I’ve never seen one person given so much love and support. God is going to take care of you, He doesn’t give up on us even when we feel like giving up.
God must be giving you the strength to walk and talk since you are feeling empty. For most of my life I never engaged in politics. The year 2000 was the first time I had ever voted in an election. Despite my disappointment at the unconstitutional anointing of America’s first king by the U.S. Supreme Court, I believed that voters could still make a difference and restore the values that I had been taught all my life that America stood for. And now, after my candidate was elected and despite my disappointment in his not investigating the unconstitutional behavior of his predecessor’s administration (thereby empowering those misdeeds through legal precedence), I still believed that in a democracy the citizens could enact the government to return to its traditional values over time. I never would have thought that it would be your trial that would be the straw that broke the camel’s back. The tax codes are so complex that no citizen or resident can ever be secured against a fascist assault like the one I see you’re having to endure. The positive in this will be the lessons learned, which will vary from person to person. I’m really questioning my own integrity before our Lord. I have sinned. If “a little leaven ferments the whole lump” then I beg for God’s forgiveness for my having believed that a measure of goodness could be accomplished through human-led sovereignties on earth. What has happened to you and Kati and Mr. Miller reveals just how easily a government can become despotic. It’s easy to decry torture, but the more cunning activities of men are carried out more subtly. It seems to me that the only right thing for me to do is to return to the neutrality I had lived by up until just ten years ago. My husband used to always tell me, “If you don’t expect anything you can’t be disappointed.” That’s true, but I do nothing without some expectation. I give either all or nothing of myself. When I believe in something it receives all I have to give. When I don’t, I give nothing. I believe in your innocence, Helio, and Kati’s and Alan Miller’s. I believe in it with my whole heart. And so I have come face to face with the hard and immutable truth pertaining to the injustice the three of you have had to endure. I hope and pray for God’s righteousness to rescue you from this adversary the devil (which means liar and slanderer). And when HE does, I pray that I will not forget the great truth of which I have graciously been reminded through your suffering. Jesus said, “Only God is good.” I never cease to be in awe of how many situations that simple and immutable truth applies to. It applies everywhere and to everything. A Bible verse comes to mind but I don’t remember where it’s located. “A crushed heart and broken spirit, O’ LORD, you will not despise.” Even though you feel empty now, Helio, remember God’s Word promises that you will be filled.” God will never forsake us even though some men may look down upon us.

Helio – I read some of your comments to a reporter about feeling empty and the feeling is “20x”
worse than the feeling you get after a high-powered car racing. That’s understandable though I
cannot say how it really feels. One thing I am sure is that our Lord God who loves you and your

I read that the closing arguements will be on Thursday. I know that these days will be amoung the most difficult of you life. Remember that God is with you carring you through this just like the the poem “Footprints”. When you look back after this you will see only Gods footprints in the sand. Well, you actually see thousands of footprints in the sand as we are all walking right behind him as he carrys you. Helio I really hope that you can feel the love,support,and prayers that we send your way. You are a wonderful man Helio all the Post on this site,all the wonderful things that Tim and Roger said about you,and the fact that they placed items of yours on your car before the race at St. Petersburg,all of this is testamony to that.You are loved.

@Paige: Here in Indianapolis, reporter, Dave Furst, from WRTV-6 showed us a video he made of Helio’s car with his helmet, gloves on the back of the car in tribute to Helio. I wish the VS channel had showed this on Sunday, but everyone here in Indianapolis who loves Helio (that is pretty much EVERYBODY) enjoyed seeing how highly respected he is by Penske an pretty much anyone who has ever met him. Helio – It was so touching to hear the comments from Tim and Roger about you this weekend and to hear about the mementos that were placed on your car in pit lane. That shows all the love and support the people that you have worked so closely with and know you so well have for you. I truly hope you feel the circle of love surrounding you as you go through this difficult time.
From what I hear, it sounds like the trial will be over soon. I pray that justice prevails and we see you racing again in Long Beach.
Going along with Ann’s comment, I studied the Refiner’s Fire in a Bible study once a few years ago. It was a great lesson about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and their story. The story goes that King Nebuchadnezzar built a statue of gold and told everyone in his kingdom to bow to it and anyone that didn’t would be thrown in the fire as punishment. But the three young men refused to worship it because they were faithful to their God. The king called them forth and told them to bow and they refused so he made the fire even hotter and ordered them to be thrown in. But when King Nebuchadnezzar looked into the fire, he saw four men, not three. Because they had God by their side through the fire. The king ordered them out of the fire and each one walked out unharmed, not even a burn on them.
Helio, I think this is what you are going through. You’re in the fire now and the flames are so hot and you wonder if you’ll ever make it out okay. But just know that you’re never alone. You have angels there, helping you and keeping you safe, and you have God by your side. He won’t let anyone hurt you if you trust in Him. You have all of us lifting you up in our prayers and I have faith that when this is all over, you’ll walk out of the flames completely unharmed.
Sometimes we have to go through that refining fire to make us stronger. Because once you make it out of the fire, you’re left with the good. The fire strips away everything and it leaves you with what’s important. It’s not fun, it’s not easy. But it does teach us what’s important and Who to have our trust and faith in. He’ll keep you safe, Helio. Good luck this week, though I know you won’t need it. We love you, Helio. I’ll be praying even harder and longer for you. <3

prayers for you, Kati, Mr. Miller and your defense lawyers that the jury will find all of

with earnest that a lot of doubts on whatever you are accused of had been shown by your defense

Tinha te escrito tantas coisas e ao enviar…perdi tudo…mas vamos lá de novo…
Assisti ontem à corrida, e sabia que não ia ser a mesma coisa, e realmente não foi mesmo…parecia que estava assistindo a um VT, e não a transmissão ao vivo…foi tão sem emoção (p/ mim, né)…mas valeu, sabe, valeu muito, por eu ter escutado as informações que o Eduardo Homem de Melo trouxe aí de Miami: ele contou do testemunho dele, na 5F, aí em Miami a teu favor, foi um testemunho longo, de aproximadamente 1h45min, disse que teus advogados já derrubaram praticamente todas as acusações, e isso me deixou muito, muito feliz e mais tranqüila. Tenho certeza que vai dar tudo certo, mas confesso que tinha uma pontinha de medo…e com as informações dele, esse medo foi embora…claro que não podemos contar com a vitória antes do tempo, ainda teremos alguns dias de agonia, mas está acabando, está quase no fim, e tudo vai acabar bem!!! Mantenham-se firmes, fortes, e com fé, muita fé, sempre, todos os minutos de todos os dias!!!
Claro que na transmissão brasileira, pela BandSports, e nem no VT ontem a noite, se quer informaram sobre o comentário que o Sr.Roger Penske fez sobre a vitória do Ryan Briscoe (fiquei sabendo aqui pelo blog)…mas que comentário, hein??!! Não é para qualquer um!!! Parabéns!!!

Although I watched the race today, my mind kept wandering to last season when the highlight of each race was seeing your smile and positive attitude. It was very obvious that your team, your fans, and the entire racing community felt the void of your missing the St. Pete race. Castroneves’ federal tax evasion trial is expected to go to the jury this week.

Oi Helinho, hoje nao foi a mesma coisa assistir uma corrida sem que voce pudesse estar na pista, apesar de eu torcer para o tony rs, senti muuuuuuuuuitoa sua falta. Desde que vc participou do DWTS eu comecei a gostar muito do seu jeito de ser e a torcer por vc tambem nas corridas, vc parece ser muito legal como pessoa.
Eu tava tentando ver noticias sobre o que vc fez por ai de errado para ter problemas com impostos e etc, mas nao tem muita coisa na net para pesquisar, sinceramente, nao to dizendo que vc seja culpado de nada, mas fico tao trsite em saber que o nome de alguem que parece legal está num lugar que parece ruim, em meio a trambiques, depois os estrangeiros acabam tendo essa ideia de que as pessoas do Brasil sao mesmo trambiqueiros e nao prestam, fico triste, vc é tao rico, nao precisava apelar para trambique, quem derá metade de nos aqui no brasil tivesse metade da metade da sua renda, aqui tem tanta gente pobre que nem tem o que comer e vc sendo rico nao precisava trapacear com a justiça…
Eu sei que nao é da minha conta, que talvez, quem sabe, voce nao tenha culpa, mas tenho que dizer que isso me intristece demais sobre pessoas que tem tanta grana e fogam fora a benção de Deus fazendo coisas erradas e ilegais, enfim, nao é da minha conta, mas tinha que desabafar…
Espero que vc volte pras pistas e vença muitas corridas e mude o seu erro, eu sei que é um saco te dar broncas rs, mas me importo com vc

I watched the Indy race today (the Cup race was boring) and I could tell that you were very missed in the Penske camp. Glad to see Ryan win and Will finish solid. Was really happy to hear Mr. Penske say, “This is for Helio.”
It was cute hearing the guys in the booth discuss whether Ryan would go climb the fence as a tribute to you. He didn’t of course because it will be your turn to climb the fence yourself very soon.
Did you feel the love, Helio, when in the moment of Ryan’s victory mentioning you were the first words from Roger? I hope you’ll be ready to go for the next race. It was nice of Versus to share a text message from you during the pre-race program so that all of us who are missing you could hear from you. You will always be the winner in my book, Helio! I am so appreciative of all the praise your team gave you today. Versus did a great job today too. I think they’ll be a great media partner for the IRL.

Hi Helio – I reluctantly watched the first part of the qualification after deciding to record
it first. I felt a lump in my throat listening to Tim being interviewed at Versus – how the team
miss (as we do), how he understand how hard it is for a good man like you not to be able to race
today, and that nobody is like Helio with your positive and joyous personality. I
stopped watching after his interview and erased the rest of the qualif I recorded.
I also recorded today’s race so I can watch it after coming from church. Jack of Versus
interviewed Tim again, Ryan B and Will P and there’s no mistaking how everybody miss you – the
race is not the same w/o you. Your dedication to the race and your personality x 10 yrs was
noted by the announcers. Hopefully and prayerfully, you will be back in this season’s race soon
with God’s help. I’m also praying for your sister and her family, your parents, Mr. Miller and all
the defense lawyers, and a Not Guilty verdict on all accusations by the jury – this week. Positive

I’m watching the qualifying on the Versus channel right now. It was so nice to hear Tim speak so highly of you, as well as the reporters. I know Tim always speaks well of you, but I teared up to hear it today, knowing that you have not been forgotten just because you can’t be there. And, maybe I’m projecting my own emotions onto him, but I think Tim spoke more passionately about your contribution to the team both on and off the track. I hope you got to see it also, Helio.

Hi Helio. I’m going to miss you this weekend too. Thankfully this ordeal will all be over soon. I’m looking forward to seeing your joyful spirit once you and Kati are vindicated. I am praying for God’s righteous spirit to rise up and set you free. Jesus said “only God is good” and St. Paul wrote, “every good gift and perfect present is from above.” Truth and justice are godly attributes, and I pray that the jury responds to the truth of your innocence and justly acquits you of the false charges brought against you. Given all the reports I have read I can’t imagine any other outcome unless the spirit of truth and justice gets ignored. That is why I say that I pray for God’s righteousness to prevail (in case you never understood that before). Sometimes people fail to understand that God’s righteousness on earth is dependent upon humans being respectful of HIS Spirit and loving HIS Word. We pray for HIS Will to be done on earth. However, unless we individually recognize that we are the vessels through which God accomplishes HIS said Will, by channeling HIS Spirit through us, then mankind will continue to disregard what is ultimately good for us all and receive as recompense all the deleterious consequences that naturally follow such disdain. Charity believes and hopes in all things and never fails to do what is good/just towards others.(1 Corinthians 13) I am praying for that kind of love, divine Love, to protect you and keep you safe in this world that frequently distinguishes its own ways as greater than God’s way.

Then, you can return to the racing that you love and that we love watching.

Since none of us know what is going on with your trial, I am not ready to give up on the fact that you could be there this weekend. I heard that Penske could seat yu as late as this evening for you to be in the race. I know the odds are that you won’t be there but we don’t know what’s going on.Our prayers and thoughts are with you as always. Guess I have to cheer for your other handsome teammate Ryan Briscoe and Will Power, who’s only keeping your seat warm for you. Hopefully this nightmare will be over by Long Beach weekend and you’ll be back where you belong – in your #3 car.
Don’t know if anyone’s won an IndyCar championship after not running the season opener, but if it hasn’t happened yet, we know you can do it.

Well it’s another day to the end of this trial. I know you and Kati are both so tierd of this. I don’t know how you have survived just sitting there for hours, I read that you doodle a lot. I would go crazy. I have restless leg syndrome so sitting for long periods is not very easy for me. Luckily my job allows me to walk a lot. I know your lawyers are doing a great job. Helio – I hope things are a little easier for you this week now that your defence team is able to really go to work to show your innocence. I just have a really positive feeling all this week that everything is going to turn out really well for you. One comment I would like to make as well – I have read many many articles written about you since the charges were laid, and I am absolutely amazed at how few negative comments have been made about you personally – usually in this kind of situation, the vultures come out. That is definitely a statement to me about the kind of person you are. I am positive that you will come out the winner one more time in the next week or two – and then I am hoping that we will see you soon as a 3-time Indy 500 champion. Soon you will see that checkered flag and we can all celebrate a victory with you. Helio you are a sweet, wonderful, and caring man. Hope you guys are holding up well. My understanding from reading updates is that the prosecution is almost ready to rest. This means that it will finally be your team’s turn to answer the allegations publicly. I will be watching for further updates as your side presents it’s case. I’m sure your attorneys have a clear strategy and based on what I’ve read of your witness list, I have a good idea of where they are heading. Best of luck!! I hope this turns out well for you. Just heard that the trial is about to be wrapped up and that it will go to the jury either tomorrow or early next week. I know this has to be a terrible time for you., it’s not easy having you future in others hands. Please remember that you have us praying for you & Kati and that things will turn out fine. I couldn’t find it either at first. Just go to the ESPN website and click on “Columnists” at the top of the home page. Then scroll down to Ryan McGee, he is the one who wrote the article. He also wrote another article on March 19, which you can find from there. Helio and all of us will be so glad when this test of faith of over!

Helio, I read the ESPN article too. Sounds like this will be over soon. Hopefully, you’ll be in St. Pete on April 5th. We all really miss you. So glad you are reading all the posts from all of us and also from Julianne. She and Chuck are doing pretty well on DWTS, but NOBODY will ever come close to you and Julianne in my eyes. There is something in you…some special gift that God has given you…and whatever it is, I know that not very many people these days have it. You have a very unique ability to make others feel happy just by your presence. I agree with the person who says all this has happened for a reason. Helio – I have been thinking about why you have had to go thru this ordeal. I believe that God always has a reason for why things happen the way they do – it just sometimes takes a very long time to understand and sometimes we never do. But, I firmly believe that he has something very special in mind that only you can do – and for whatever reason you needed to go thru this experience to prepare for it. Maybe it will be motivational speeches or some kind of volunteer work, maybe the entertainment field, whatever – but I firmly believe it will be something that will make a significant difference in people’s lives. I know you want to keep racing and there is no reason why you can’t continue to do that, but this will be more meaningful that that. You have such a rare and special gift to be able to connect with people … and to make them smile and forget about their problems even if it is just for a couple of minutes. That can make all the difference in the world and give them the strength to keep fighting the battle another day. I know you have done that for me on several occasions when things were really tough and I thank you for it. Praying for good news for you soon.

My second favorite saying is this: “Seek truth and you will find it. Seek what you want to believe and you will find that instead.” This comes to my mind today because I think what the prosecutors are doing is looking for a crime and that is why they can’t see the truth. That’s one of the major drawbacks to living in a society where the mentality is that you’re nothing if you’re not at the top of your game. Specifically, that mentality enables certain kinds of individuals to devalue the worth of certain others.
My all time favorite saying is one I heard you say: “It is what it is.” You have no idea how much those few words by you, which you uttered so as not to deny an obvious truth, have helped me be more positive about my own hardships. And for that, I praise God. May he continue to bless your honest spirit.

Your lawyers have done a great job at showing you to be innocent. Of course they could have saved a lot of time if they had just asked us, your fans. We all know better! You are a decent, talented, honest, forthright person and we all know that. We know you will always do the right thing since that is the kind of person you are. I just got back from Disney World. It was a blast.
On Wednesday afternoon, we went to the Walt Disney World Speedway. Four people in our “party” road in NASCAR stock cars and only one of them, Emily, road in an IndyCar. Multiple people who work at the track, including those at the Richard Petty Driving Experience, commented on my Helio shirt.
I was even complimented on my shirt by Arie Luyendyk Jr, whom I was very happy to have my picture taken with that afternoon. He thought it was cool I wore an IndyCar driver’s shirt.
Just stopping by to say hello and let you know that I’m still praying for you everyday. I can’t wait for this to be over and for you to get back to doing what you love – racing!!!

After writing my last note to you I began to think of how true a certain teaching by Jesus proves to be in the situation you are enduring at this time. Jesus made a clear distinction between the two different kinds of people on this earth. The context clarifies the point that is summed up simply at Luke 16:8 which tells us, “For the children of this world are more astute in dealing with their own kind than are the children of Light.”
Helio, I believe you are a child of Light. I’m not ashamed to say it. I believed this before your trial, but your trial is making your Light shine ever more brightly, despite the attempts by certain sons of this world. The sons of this world assume that everyone is just like them because all their ways of dealing are rooted in the darkness.(Second Corinthians 4:4) Because they are blind to the Light that exists in God’s Word they can confidently rise up and give false testimony about a true child of God. With this knowledge then, perhaps, when all is said and done and God vindicates His Light upon you, we can imitate our Lord Jesus who prayed for his enemies, “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.” Of course, not to be overlooked, are our own deficiencies for which Jesus taught us to pray for forgiveness “even as we forgive our debtors.”
Hi Helio. After reading the latest report about the trial I can’t help but think that some of this must feel somewhat surreal to you. You’re too beautiful, Helio, and I’m talking about your spirit. In this world, sometimes we can feel betrayed even by persons we’ve trusted. In the ultimate sense, only God will be 100% faithful and loyal towards us. Only HIS Word will never deceive us. May God continue to bless you, Helio, so that you may continue to reflect His light in this world so that the rest of us may be blessed by your joyous appreciation for a truly “good” life.

Hi Helio! Whether there’s news or not on your trial, I’m going to keep praying for your release. I’m sure your lawyers know what’s best for you. Given the public fumes about AIG execs right now I’d hate to see you hanged because of media-incited public sentiments the same way Jesus was. Not sure I understand why an announcement of a request for a gag order would be so secretive, though. Keep your chin up and stay cool. I hope all is going well with you and Kati, both inside and outside the courtroom. Godspeed to you both.

Hi Helio. We are not hearing much news about the trial, so I am hoping it is going well and one day at a time, you are getting closer to vindication. That is the only news I am interested in hearing about. I’ve been watching Dancing with the Stars, and must admit that there is no one this year that has really grabbed my interest. It just made me go back and watch your dances again and realize that I would have been voting for you if you were there this season. Take care and know there are so many of us that care about you and are praying for wonderful things for you and your family.

Rhonda, the site mentioned that defense attorney requested, didn’t say court order, that no more info be released until after the trial is over and it was posted on Monday. Since this is a Forum open to anyone, I don’t feel comfortable in Posting the site. If you have an email address that you rarely use, I could send it to you there.
And I haven’t seen any news. But like you said, one never knows if the court is in session or not. And one is never sure what is true, either. Where did your husband see it?

Just wanted to let you know that we are thinking about you as this new week begins in your trial. I hope you and Kati had time to relax over the weekend. We went Wedding dress shopping over the weekend. Now we have that taken care of. We received our “Indy 500″ tickets on Friday. We plan on seeing you there. We watched “The 10 Closest Finishes” last night. It was great to hear you talk, see your smiling face and to see you in YOUR #3 car. We are praying for you and Kati that this will be a good week for you and all of this nonsense will be over with soon. WE as well as you want to see you where you are suppose to be; sitting in that #3 car with a big smile on your face and ours.

Thinking of you and your family this Sunday morning while watching Hour of Power on Channel 40 (in
California). Dr. Ben Solomon Carson, the pioneer in separating conjoin twins, spoke about his
faith in God and His son Jesus, and despite all his success in the medical field, He still pray before each surgery he does, and gives God the glory for he realizes that only God gives him the
knowledge and know-how he needs in everything he does. He has a book and a movie made in his life
called “Gifted Hands”. My point is – keep your faith in God, be strong, and He will get you thru
this legal case you are in. Trust in Him always, He knows what is best for you and your family.
I believe in this as I am still going thru medical “race” of my own. I still remain one of your
many fans who believe in you!
It was great to see you racing today! And to hear your interviews! Exciting show! I thought the
Versus program was very good! Can’t wait to see you race in 2009!

Hello Helio im such a fan!!!!!!!! Watched you on dancing with the stars and saw you here in Milwaukee, WI last summer 2007 when you came to the Milwaukee Mile. I was soooooooo excited to finally see you of course i was on the stands and probably looked like an ant from where you were standing but i have to say it was worth it. Helio – I’m thinking about you this morning. You’ve made it thru another week and hopefully soon it will be your side’s time to prove your innocence. Stay positive and know that there are so many people out there supporting you and praying that the outcome for you and Kati is positive.
Just to add a little note – I got a wonderful surprise this week. My husband gave me an old tape to record on and I accidentally hit play instead of record. There to my surprise was Season 5 Week 8 of DWTS where I got to watch someone (I wonder who) do a wonderful Paso Doble and Quick Step. I hope you get a nice surprise like that too this week.

Helio, I want you to know that my prayers are with you daily and this will soon be over so you can concentrate on winning the 2009 IRL Championship. This court case is simply terrible and we all know that you are going to win. Watching Wind Tunnel last Sunday night Robin Miller along with Dave agree that this court case is simply an abuse of justice. The IRL would be nothing without you in it. Everytime I check in for any updates i continue to be amazed at the constant support you have here,Helio.I hope you are able to check in here and read them at sometime and realise that your fans are definately behind you 100%.We continue to pray daily for a quick resolution for you, Kati and Mr Miller.I don’t think the US Government has a good strong case against you …i know its early days but they don’t seem to have come up with much proof of anything so far..only speculation!

Why couldn’t the government and IRS go after those who really are evading taxes on purpose instead of this guy who should be getting ready to race his IndyCar?

Helio – I still could not believe our own government who I used to think highly of – will stoop
this low to use you, a legal resident, for their own selfish motive and an example for other
sports celebrities. They can just look at Washington DC or stock market or the entertainment
areas or auto CEOs where the rich and famous live who are adept at hiding their millions! Why go after a beloved car racer with very limited English (and who was made fun of by Julianne during
your stint with DWTS because of your not understanding some common English words) and no
understanding of US laws (which is not surprising ‘cuz most American don’t understand them
either) – that is why most Americans use tax helpers or IRS workers for help with their income
taxes. You were at least smart enough to leave the business part of your income to
so-called knowledgeable people so you can concentrate on racing, your passion.
I continue to pray for you, Kati and her little boy and hubby, your parents, and your lawyers
to be acquitted from all these nightmares brought on by the government. You have all our support, Helio.
