I saw your guest appearance on Dave’s show. I agree with everyone that you were great, but then again you always are when you do interviews! I do disagree with some though about Dave….maybe it is us New Yorkers who understand Dave best. All his silliness is what Dave is all about. I thought he was very nice to you even though he asked questions about the tax charges. I’m sure those questions won’t go on forever. Hope you have a good and safe race in Texas and get to rack up some points for the championship !!!!
Helio, you looked very good on Letterman last night. I liked the casual look. We don’t see you wearing jeans very often, but it looked good on you!
You were the only part of the show that I did enjoy. I’m surprised that Dave didn’t ask you more actual racing questions, considering he is supposed to part of the Indycar group himself. It would have been such a good opportunity for him to really discuss Indycar racing from a deeper knowledge of it. Oh well, you did a fine job yourself.
On a different subject, I’ve noticed when looking for Indycar info on some of the big website home pages, when you go to motorsports, it brings up NASCAR and Formula 1, but it doesn’t even mention Indycar news as an option. Somebody needs to make sure Indycar at least gets equal time on these websites. I have Comcast/Google for the searches that I do, and it is really starting to get me upset at how unfair the media treats Indycar compared to other motorsports.
I’m done ranting now, but let us fans know if there is anything we can do to help Indycar’s cause.

You were great on Letterman last night. Wish they could have done the whole show with just you. Don’t take it the wrong way, I love Bill Cosby but we would have much rather seen more of you. Maybe you should give Kati your ring. She certainly deserves it. She went through a lot right along with you in the past several months. Anyway, it’s your ring but remember the ring doesn’t make the man. You are quite a man with or without the ring. Good Luck in Texas. Maybe next year we will fly out there to watch it. My Cousin lives in Texas. Tom would like to go to Toranto next year too. We’ll see. We have a wedding to plan for next May. We’ll probably be broke. Better get back to work. We’ll be watching this weekend.

Saw and heard you on Dave Letterman’s program last night. You actually were interviewed at 12MN PDT. You are so handsome with that smile and attire. You look good in any color you wear. As usual you did answer all of Dave’s questions straight and honestly and no hesitancy – you are the best. Though as usual in the media, he did bring up the trial but at least he said many times that you were found not guilty of all accusations, and you’re a free man. He congratulated you on your Indy win. You are one classy guy reminding Dave to give Oriol Servia a ride in one of the IRL races. Your story about a fan stating you are now an American was funny. Hope you’ll try to get more rest this time prior to your Texas race. Prayers are again lifted for you for a safe race and win at Texas. HUGS from one of your many fans.

I have to say that you were GREAT given Letterman’s unrelated questions of racing and your victory. No wonder he has NO TEAM any more even being from Indy originally. In my opinion, he has no racing knowledge and lives on his Indy background as a crutch. I knew him as a “weatherman” in the early 70′s …………even a boastful person then. No idea of the real thing. He could have atleast pronounced your name correctly……….El E O………..not HEL E O………….4 times or more. What an As*. Best wishes Helio !!!!!!!!!!! PS: Stay away from Lettermen in the future……….we will watch you elsewhere. DBF
Just watched Letterman and you did well Helio. Guess you are going to have to address that tax question forever. Maybe the best response would be “I’m a good dancer, and a better driver but tax accounting…..not so much.” Everyone will laugh with you and you will disarm your interviewer by taking control of the question with humor. Go get em Racing Champion.
Well I am really looking forward to Letterman tonight. I usually don’t stay up that late during the week but I will make an exception! Especially since I wasn’t able to see the race yesterday.
There was a telethon on from 6am to 4pm so it wasn’t on. Can’t wait for Saturday night in Texas!

Helio, looking forward to seeing you on Dave Letterman tonight. As you probably know, Dave got his start right here in Indianapolis on a local radio station (WNTS) as well as being a weatherman for one of the tV stations. My husband and I used to listen to him on the radio because he was such an unusual personality for Indianapolis (that was back in the 70′s). Tell him everybody in Indy says “hi”. Have fun tonight — then get some rest before Texas.
Sorry how Milwaukee turned out, but you’ll get back on track in Texas. Loved the interview on ABC after the race. Good to see you still keeping “bad” days in perspective after your experiences earlier in the year.
You should get Adriana to go on Letterman with you. I’ll bet she could tell us all sorts of interesting things about you (ha ha). She is adorable. I love her sense if humor and she seems kind of feisty and sweet too.

@Pegi: Yes. Dave co-owns the #17 with Bobby Rahal. He was co-owner when Danica was first in IndyCar. Shame they’ve not been able to run full time this year.

I do agree with the others who say Adriana is perfect for you. She’s a keeper. She’s stuck with you through the rough times and is now here for all the good times. She gets a thumbs up from your fans and your family for sure.

Helio, watching the race yesterday, I was reminded of how amazing and wonderful a person you are. I think maybe some other drivers would have been upset and complaining if they had had a day like you, but not you. Still all smiles, even though it was disappointing, and always so happy and sweet during the post race interviews. This is why we love you so much. Because you are such a gentleman, so full of heart and positivity. I’m so excited to see you on Letterman tonight and though I just told you this on twitter, you look really good in that picture, haha.

Had to watch the race on TiVo last night. I’m glad you weren’t hurt in the crash on during qualifing. We will watch you on David Letterman tonight. We spent the weekend cuddling our new grandson and keeping our granddaughter for a night. Hoping they get to come home from the hospital today. They were both doing great yesterday.
Looking forward to seeing the race this weekend. We loved seeing you at INDY, that was special. I too agree, Adrianna seems very nice. She seems to fit right in with the family. Maybe you’ll catch the wedding bug from Ryan. Okay I won’t bug you about that. Tell Kati and Eduardo “Hi”, it was really nice meeting them and talking to them at INDY. I hear you enjoyed the fruit I hope you liked the little banner also. Some Tibetan Monks were at our library make a Sand Mandela it was beatuiful. If you want to see it you can look on the Libraries web site daytonmetrolibrary.org. Better close for now and get some work done.
