On today’s Independence day Helio took the 14th position for Watkins Glen’s race.
Broadcasted by ABC at 1pm on Sunday (July 5th), this race brings a lot of excitement and starts of a series of road courses ahead.
Helio comments about this track:
“Watkins Glen has a lot of history and is a very challenging, yet fun, track to drive. We captured the pole in three of the last four years, but for various reasons, haven’t been able to find the race results we are capable of achieving. Hopefully, we’ll find the same speed that we’ve had there in the past and combine it with the finish we’ve been looking for.”
Also, everyone, tomorrow (July 5th) is Kati’s Birthday!

Televisado pela Band as 2 da tarde (Horário de Braíilia), esta corrida trás muita intensidade e inicia uma série de corridas em circuitos mistos.
Helio comenta sobre a pista:
“Watkins Glen tem muita história e é uma pista com muitos desafios, porém divertida de pilotar. Conseguimos a pole position em tres dos quatro anos anteriores, mas por diversas razões, não conseguimos encontrar os resultados que sabemos que podemos alcançar. Espero que possamos encontrar a velocidade dos anos anteriores e combinar com a posição de chegada que estamos em busca.
Também, pessoal, amanhã (dia 5 de Julho) é aniversário da Kati!

Sorry it took so long to get this posted. Been a busy week. Great race at Watkins Glen. We were there and had a great time. It was our first race and it was a ball. Got great pictures. We were able to get a picture with you and Ryan. That topped the day. I was so happy. You had a great race. Hope all is well. Good luck on the next race. Happy B-day to Kati alittle late. Your girlfriend is so sweet. As she was waiting for you I said hi and she waved to us and said hi. Take Care.

I had seen an article saying that you won Driver of the Year at Tecate Sports Awards Show….never saw anything else about you winning this!! Not on indy car or here on your website. Hope it is true!
Also saw article stating that you will be attending the ESPYS! Hope this is true as well!! I voted many days ago..when it first was announced! So did members of our Forum! Hope you win both categories!! Good Luck!!

Helio, I voted for you as Best Driver and Best Moment on ESPYS.com. That screen is terrible cuz the red button below the screen most of the time doesn’t show after you try to vote for a category. Apparently that red circle should be clicked to have the vote counted.
Also saw that video where you were testing Kati’s new b-day bike – did you give that to her?

We were on vacation during the Watkins Glen race. Finally watched it on Tivo last night. You did great for starting in the middle of the pack. You will do great up in Canada. We are counting the days for the races in Kentucky and Mid-Ohio as we will be there and won’t have to watch it on TV.
