Helio Castroneves recebe o principal prêmio da imprensa brasileira
O piloto Helio Castroneves foi um dos destaques da noite de gala do automobilismo brasileiro, realizada em São Paulo na última terça-feira, 1º de dezembro. Promovido pela revista Racing e considerado o mais importante prêmio destinado aos pilotos brasileiros em atuação no Brasil e no exterior, seus vencedores são escolhidos pelo voto direto de aproximadamente 70 jornalistas especializados em esporte motor. Helio concorreu na categoria TOP e foi o mais votado, sendo um dos agraciados com o Capacete de Ouro, honraria máxima da noite.
Em razão de compromissos profissionais e pessoais, Helinho não pôde viajar ao Brasil e foi representado na entrega dos prêmios por seu pai, Helio Sênior. Principal incentivador da carreira do piloto, ele ficou muito emocionado com a vitória do filho e pelo vídeo especialmente produzido para a ocasião.
Com cerca de três minutos, o vídeo foi gravado em Miami e, nele, Helinho fez um emocionado agradecimento à família e aos amigos pelo apoio recebido recentemente, relembrou as grandes conquistas da temporada de 2009, festejou o fato de se tornar pai nas próximas semanas e, ao final, dedicou ao troféu a Helio Sênior, a quem definiu como “o meu herói”.
“O público brasileiro é apaixonado por automobilismo e a imprensa é muito exigente, acompanhando atentamente tudo o que fazemos nas pistas. Então, receber esse prêmio é motivo de muita alegria, pois é o reconhecimento do trabalho realizado durante todo este ano que, felizmente, estamos fechando com chave de outro, quer dizer, com Capacete de Ouro”, disse Helinho, brincando com o nome do prêmio, que em 2009 completou 13 anos de existência.

How are you? Anxious I am sure for the birth of Mikaella. I hope Adriana is feeling well. I don’t know if you remember, but last May my husband gave you a sketch/drawing he made of you with your car and the Borg trophy? Well this coming year, it was my turn to make you something to let you know how much we both admire and support you! I hope you like it and may even hang it up in Mikaella’s nursery. Anyway, I will hopefully have it finished by next May and can give it to you then. Please try and keep us all updated on how things are going (or maybe your bro-in-law can if you are too busy)and when your beautiful baby girl arrives!

Hi Helio! Only 12 days until Christmas. Bet little Eduardo’s excited along with the whole family.
You have so much to be thankful for along with the rest of the family (and I’m including Adriana too; she’s always going to be a part of the Castroneves family whether you two get married or not).
2010 is going to be so big for you: a fast Penske car, two great teammates with the addition of Will as a permanent teammate, the chance to become the first guy to win Indy back-to-back twice (and the first father to win the race since Gil in ’03 (though all but Dario have had little ones since their wins), a chance to compete for the title (which I’m starting think might be yours), and, best of all, a beautiful little daughter who is going to be your biggest fan and your pride and joy.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Happy New Year, and wishing all the best to Adriana and you as parenthood draws closer every day now.

Anxiously awaiting that English translation. Is it true your little one might arrive earlier than anticipated? I don’t twitter, so I don’t know what others have read. I don’t plan to twitter until I get an i-phone. So I’m not sure how it works at present.

I agree. It would be nice if she arrived just a little bit early. More with her before you really have to get back to work. Wouldn’t surprise me either because she likely has her daddy’s impaptience.
Helio, just noticed on your Twitter page you mentioned you daughter may arrive early…that would be an awesome Christmas gift! We are all keeping you and Adriana in our prayers for a safe delivery! You won’t believe how much you will love this little girl…I know you love your nephew too, but this will be different…I promise!! You’ll see…my love and prayers to all 3 of you!!

Congratulations on the new “Gold Helmet” award. I enjoyed the video. Tom has been wanting us to learn Portuguese, I guess that would’ve come in handy. It was great to see your smiling face, which is something you can understand no matter which language you speak.
Hope all is well with the family and that you and Adriana have everything ready for the baby. Sit back relax and enjoy, you are about to learn what true joy is all about. Enjoy the ride.
