Helio Castroneves goes to Mid-Ohio looking forward to the championship title

Encouraged by the victory in Edmonton and the 2nd place leadership of the IZOD IndyCar Series, Helio Castroneves returns to the track this Sunday, August 5, to compete in the 12th race of the championship in the permanent circuit at Mid-Ohio. With four races to go (Mid-Ohio, Sonoma, Baltimore and Fontana) and with 212 points at stake, the race is very tight and the title wide open.

“This is a pivotal moment in the league because there are many good people in contention for the title and many drivers have good chances, including me,” said Castroneves, who has 33 points behind leader Ryan Hunter-Reay and therefore may leave Mid-Ohio as the new No. 1 in the championship. “It will be a tough battle and will not be easy, but I’m here for that reason, fight to the finish to be champion of IndyCar,” said the Team Penske driver.
