Helio Castroneves confirmed the good performance this Saturday, compared to the performance on Friday, and secured the 4th place on the grid for the GoPro’s Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma, 13th and penultimate stage of the 2012 season of the IZOD IndyCar Series. The start will be Sunday from 4:30om (EST).

His recovery could already be noticed in Practice 2, when he ended in 6th, much better than the 16th obtained on Friday. In the Fast Six, he secured a position in the second row with a time of 1min18s1090. The pole position is Will Power.

“We started the day well with a good practice, and for Qualifying, we made some adjustments that worked well, but we also were already thinking about the strategy for tomorrow because the race will require a lot of tires,” said the three-time INDY 500 champion.
